BULLETIN -
SPRING 2005
Greetings from the Priory of St. John the Apostle:
Let us remind all friends of the priory of the
following:
The Blessed Sacrament, the Body of Christ, is present in the
tabernacle in Holy Trinity Chapel at all times. Visits and prayers to Our
Saviour are permitted and encouraged. Do you suppose Christ is
disappointed that thousands will fill an auditorium and pay big money to see a
rock star perform and do his ugly thing, but so few will make a visit to their
Lord and Redeemer - the Son of God, who will one day be their Final
Judge.
You do not need an invitation or a special event to come to the
priory and visit the chapel, the cemetery or the library. The priory is
here for your use, especially for your sanctification and salvation. Come
spend a few minutes or several hours. All are welcome.
The Stations of the Cross are prayed every Friday afternoon at 2:00
pm. All are welcome. (This beautiful and moving devotion has been
faithfully carried out during this season of Lent.)
There are still two weeks left in Lent - the primary penitential
season of the liturgical year. We wish to encourage anyone who wishes to
participate that there will be Stations of the Cross at 2:00 in the afternoon,
before the Blessed Sacrament, during these last two weeks of Lent - on Friday,
March 18 (the commemoration of the Seven Dolors of Our Lady) and on Friday,
March 25th (Good Friday) accompanied by a reading of the Passion of Jesus
according to St. John the Apostle and Evangelist.
We also wish to announce that Fr. Raymond Dunn, S.J., O.S.J., will
be here at the Priory for five days in April. Holy Mass will be celebrated
at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 22nd, Saturday, April 23rd, and Sunday, April
24th. Confessions will be heard before each Mass.
At the Sunday Mass, several children will be making their First
Holy Communion. We will have light refreshments following this Mass and
special event. Perhaps those who will attend could bring some simple light
items such as sandwiches, veggie plate, cold cuts, chips, cookies, fruit,
etc. As always, in case of illness, airline flight cancellation or delay,
or other unforeseen problem, please call the Priory to confirm the April Mass
schedule. (Telephone: 423-338-2328)
We are looking forward to seeing you at either the Stations of the
Cross or on First Communion Sunday, or both.
May the risen Christ shower His richest blessings on each of you
and your loved ones during this Holy Easter Season.
